Ronald McDonald House volunteers are the "heart" of the "House that Love Built." They provide the comfort and services that truly make this a "Home Away From Home" for the families who stay with us. In 2006, our volunteers collectively donated 14,667 hours of their time! The following are examples of the many ways that our volunteers contribute:

In-House Volunteers

• Complete guest registration forms & provide guest tours
• Answer phones & perform various office tasks & receptionist duties
• Prepare guest rooms (make beds, replace towels & personal care items)
• Complete guest check out procedures
• Light housekeeping
• Launder mattress pads, kitchen linens, bath mats, & cleaning rags
• Shifts are three hours in length, weekly or bi-weekly

Shuttle Drivers

• Transport guests to & from local hospitals in our provided vehicle
• Run errands (pick up donations, office supplies, post office, etc.)
• Assist with household chores (empty trash cans, recycling, etc.)
• Shifts are three-four hours in length, weekly or bi-weekly

McMeal Makers

• Individuals, families, organizations, and local restaurants who provide meals for our guests and their families
• Bring in a pot of soup or prepare a meal in our well-equipped kitchen
• This may be a one-time volunteer opportunity or scheduled on an on-going basis

McDairy Plus Providers

• Individuals or families who provide dairy and non-dairy perishable items for our guests and their families
• Scheduled as a monthly donation of Milk, Bread, Butter, Eggs, Cheese, Yogurt, etc.

McCookie Bakers

• Bake cookies once a month for guests on a regularly scheduled date
